AI / AI readiness assessment

AI readiness assessment

Know where AI fits before you fund it.

A short, structured assessment of your use cases, data, security, compliance and people. You finish with a prioritized AI roadmap, a business case leadership can act on, and a clear answer on what your contracts and regulators allow.

Who it's for

Everyone is adopting AI. Fewer are ready for it.

Most AI problems turn out to be data, access and process problems. The assessment finds them before they become a breach, a failed audit or a stalled rollout.

  • Leadership wants an AI plan, and no one owns it yet
  • Teams already use AI tools that IT and security never approved
  • You handle CUI, FCI, ePHI or customer data that can't end up in the wrong tool
  • A Copilot or chatbot pilot stalled after the first month
  • Customers, primes or your insurer are asking how you govern AI

What we assess

Six pillars, with compliance built in

Generic AI assessments stop at strategy and data. Ours puts security and compliance on equal footing, because that is where regulated companies get stuck.

Strategy and use cases

Where AI lines up with business goals, and which ideas are worth funding first.

Data foundation

Where your data lives, how clean and classified it is, and whether it can safely ground AI.

Security and access

Who can reach sensitive data through AI tools, and where oversharing already exists.

Compliance and governance

What CMMC, HIPAA, SOC 2, your contracts and the NIST AI RMF require of each use case.

People and adoption

Skills, policy awareness, change management and who will own AI day to day.

Technology and integration

Your Microsoft 365 cloud, current AI tools and the systems AI has to connect to.

Every finding is mapped to an action, an owner and an estimate of effort.

How it works

Four steps, typically about four weeks

01

Discover

Kickoff with leadership, stakeholder interviews and a short survey. We inventory the AI tools already in use, sanctioned or not.

02

Prioritize use cases

Score each idea on value, feasibility and data risk, and agree a shortlist of three to five.

03

Assess readiness and risk

Test each shortlisted use case against the six pillars and your compliance obligations, and map every gap to a fix.

04

Roadmap and business case

A 12-month roadmap with quick wins, effort estimates and an ROI estimate, presented live to your leadership team.

Then, if you want help: secure deployment, pilots and ongoing optimization.

What you receive

FAQ

Common questions

We already use ChatGPT and Copilot. Is it too late?

No. Most of our assessments start that way. We inventory what's in use and tell you what to keep, what to move and what to stop.

Can we use AI with CUI?

Only in tools approved for CUI, which generally means environments that meet FedRAMP Moderate or equivalent, such as Microsoft 365 Copilot in GCC High. Most consumer AI tools don't qualify.

Do you sell AI software?

No. We're independent, so the roadmap reflects what fits your environment and obligations, not a product quota.

Who needs to be involved?

A leadership sponsor, IT or your MSP, security or compliance, and one or two leaders from the teams most likely to use AI.

What happens after the assessment?

You own the roadmap. We can help carry it out, from secure deployment and pilots to governance and ongoing optimization, or hand it to your team.
